	<title>Oh the huge manatee!</title>

I was lucky enough to escape the desolate wasteland of Troy to visit my grandmother in Florida. I got a chance to see the manatees up near Daytona beach. I think we saw about 30 of them up the river and let me tell you, compared to the Hudson, this river was something out of a water purification commercial. Probably due to there being a whole lot less random waste, silt, and ditched cars residing along the shores.

One of my roommates and I found a great abandoned iron mill around town and decided to check it out. We spent a good few hours avoiding falling debris, and probably took a few years off of our lungs. This is from the second floor of the main building. The floor consisted of re bar with bricks in between, providing a completely non-existent walking platform. I had to take this shot from the stairs with the tripod resting just past the top of the staircase on one of the few complete areas.

I built myself a time-delayed transistor photo gate to try and experiment with strobe photography a bit. After much trial and error with the time delay, my roommate and I got this picture from dropping a quarter through the gate.

Went back to New York to visit the relatives for a few weeks and found myself commissioned as the family photographer. I spent a good amount of time sitting in the back of the boat trying to get some good action shots and this is my favorite of them all.
